Here in this article we will try to install Chef DK software on Windows Workstation.

Test Environment

Windows 8.1 OS

Procedure

Step1: Download the ChefDK software package for windows 8.1

Download the ChefDK software package which provides with the required tools to work with the Chef Infrastructure automation.

URL - https://downloads.chef.io/chefdk
Package name - chefdk-1.4.3-1-x86.msi

Step2: Install the ChefDK software

Launch the MSI package downloaded to start the installation and continue with the installation by selecting the required options.

Step3: Verify the installation

Now its time to verify the installation as shown below from the Windows CMD interface.
